Immunisations (Vaccination)

The UK has a national routine immunisation schedule which offers protection against 14 serious infections and includes vaccinations given to children and to older people. We also offer covid immunisation in response to the current covid pandemic.

No immunisations are mandatory in UK but they are encouraged as they are an important part of preventative medicine and are one of the most effective ways of preventing infectious diseases.

Immunisation status for covid and other diseases should be checked on registration with a GP and advice about whether any vaccinations are recommended will be given. Most practices will be able to arrange appointments for routine immunisations for adults and children if they wish to have them.

Covid Vaccination

Although research has shown that people living in Ukraine are more vaccine-hesitant than in many other countries, this information in Ukrainian and Russian may be useful to help Guests make a decision about whether or not to accept the offer of vaccination now that they are in UK.

We do not routinely do blood tests before immunisation in UK but the GP or other health professional will make sure that you do not have any conditions that make vaccination unsafe.
